IMPORTANT – ENGINE CONDITION
The vehicle is being sold with a known engine issue and is priced accordingly.
It was inspected by a Porsche dealer after developing a check-engine light, rough running and some white exhaust smoke. Diagnostic testing showed misfires on cylinders 1 and 8. The Porsche technician removed the #8 spark plug and observed oil residue on the electrode. A borescope inspection was then performed and the dealer diagnosed severe cylinder-wall scoring.
Spark plugs and ignition coils were also replaced recently.
The vehicle currently starts, runs and drives; however, given the Porsche dealer's diagnosis of severe cylinder-wall scoring, I recommend that it be transported rather than driven any significant distance. The Cayenne should be considered a repair/rebuild project and is being sold as-is.
Aside from the engine issue, the car is in beautiful condition inside and out. It is a relatively low-mileage, unusually configured example of the first-generation, face-lifted 957 Cayenne S that has been well cared for and presents exceptionally well for its age.
